What is Awana?
Awana is a ministry that helps churches and parents work together to develop spiritually strong children who faithfully follow Jesus Christ!
What We Believe About Raising Your Kids Spiritually
Awana's approach to children's ministry emphasizes the roles parents and churches play in growing Christ-following kids.
What goes on in an Awana meeting?
That depends on which Awana program your child attends: Puggles (2-3 year olds), Cubbies (preschool), Sparks (K-2), or T&T (third to sixth grade).
Puggles recognizes the learning ability of 2 and 3-year olds by introducing biblical precepts at church and equipping parents to teach them at home. In Puggles, children are welcomed each week with play time, songs and simple crafts and activities. Leaderspresent age-appropriate lessons using large, colorful teaching cards, finger puppet plays and more. Lessons teach and reinforce four basic biblical precepts: God Made Everything. God Saw that it was Good. God is Love. Give God Thanks.
Cubbies (preschool) celebrates preschoolers' spiritual potential by helping them develop respect for God, His Son, and His Word. Cubbies is built on two premises: Young children can and should receive spiritual training. Home is the primary place for spiritual training.
Sparks (K-2) teaches children about the people and events of the Bible. This knowledge builds a foundation of wisdom for knowing Jesus. Spars meetings combine learning with fun to create an atmosphere of irresistible excitement. Club meetings are divided into three segments: Bible teaching, singing, announcements, and awards. Small group interaction and completion of Bible-based lessons. Games that appeal to kids of all skill levels.
Truth & Training (3rd-6th grades) answers kids' key questions about God and the Bible, guiding them to grow in His grace. Like Sparks for K-2 kids, T&T weekly meetings are divided into three segments. Children have gut-busting, team-oriented fun in Game Time; they sing, hear a Bible message and receive awards in arg group time and learn and recite bible truths in handbook time. Exciting theme nights, the Awana store, and other exciting activities spice up meetings throughout the year.
